Yes. Even after the warranty has expired, we're happy to check whether a repair of your STERNGLAS watch is possible.
Whether and to what extent we can carry out a repair depends on the specific defect, the model, and the availability of the required spare parts.
How does a repair outside the warranty work?
Please contact our customer service first and describe as precisely as possible what problem is occurring with your watch.
The following information is helpful:
- the exact model of your watch
- your order number, if available
- as precise a description of the defect as possible
- how long the problem has existed
- photos of any visible damage
- for issues with function, running or noise, a short video if possible
Based on your information, we'll first check which repair is likely needed.
Will I find out the cost before sending in my watch?
Yes.
We don't provide a classic cost estimate, but we will tell you the maximum possible repair costs for the defect you've described before you send in your watch.
This way, you'll know in advance the maximum amount you might need to pay.
Do I need to send in my watch straight away?
No. Please don't send in your watch without being asked to do so.
Contact our customer service first. We'll review your case and then let you know:
- whether a repair is generally possible
- what the maximum repair costs could be
- how the process of sending in your watch will work
- and whether any shipping costs might apply
Can older STERNGLAS watches also be repaired?
We're generally happy to check what repair options exist for older models too.
Among other things, it depends on whether the required spare parts are still available and which work can be carried out in a technically sensible way.
If a particular repair or required spare part is no longer available, we'll let you know about possible alternatives.
What repairs are possible outside the warranty?
Depending on the model and defect, work on the movement or the replacement of individual components may be possible, for example.
This can include:
- repairs or work on the movement
- regulation of an automatic watch
- servicing of a mechanical movement
- replacement of a defective movement
- replacement of glass, crown or other components
- work on hands or date display
- replacement of damaged components
We check individually which repair is possible and sensible for your watch.
What happens if a different defect is found during inspection?
If, after your watch arrives, it turns out that there's a different or additional problem than originally described, which would result in different costs, we'll let you know how to proceed.
Is every repair still economically worthwhile?
Not necessarily.
Depending on the age of the watch, the model and the extent of the damage, an extensive repair may, in some circumstances, no longer be worthwhile in relation to the value of the watch.
In this case, we'll inform you of the available options so you can decide for yourself how you'd like to proceed.
When should I contact customer service?
You can get in touch with us at any time if your STERNGLAS watch develops a defect outside the warranty.
It's best to send us all the information about the fault straight away. This way, we can assess as quickly as possible whether a repair is possible and let you know the maximum costs involved.
