A chronograph is a watch with an additional stopwatch function.
In addition to the normal time, a chronograph has extra hands or subdials that can be used to measure time intervals.
It's usually operated using pushers on the case. You use these to start, stop and reset the timing function.
So the difference to a normal watch is that a chronograph doesn't just display the time, but can also be used like a stopwatch.
