Why doesn't my second hand move smoothly?
If the second hand jumps once per second, this is normal for a quartz watch.
A quartz movement works with regular electrical impulses. These impulses typically move the second hand forward in individual steps.
This looks different from an automatic watch. With mechanical movements, the second hand usually moves in several small steps per second, which makes it appear smoother.
A jumping second hand is therefore usually not a defect in a quartz watch, but part of its normal way of working.
