Seals can age over time or become worn due to use, temperature changes, knocks and contact with water. This can cause the water resistance to decrease.
A check is particularly worthwhile after repairs, battery changes, strong knocks or frequent contact with water.
If you regularly wear your watch while swimming or in humid environments, you should have the water resistance checked at suitable intervals.
