How do I shorten a stainless steel strap?
A stainless steel strap is shortened by removing individual links.
Suitable tools are needed for this, for example a strap-shortening tool or a suitable pin pusher. The pins need to be carefully pushed out in the right direction and then fitted back cleanly.
If you're unsure, we recommend having a stainless steel strap shortened by a watchmaker or specialist shop. This way, you avoid scratches, damaged pins or a clasp that doesn't sit properly.
After shortening, you should always check that all the links, pins and the clasp are sitting securely.
