What is the Miyota 8215?
The Miyota 8215 is a mechanical automatic movement made by the Japanese manufacturer Miyota.
It's considered a reliable entry-level automatic movement and is used in many mechanical watches. Thanks to the automatic winding mechanism, the movement winds itself as you wear the watch, through the motion of your wrist.
It can also be wound by hand using the crown. This is especially helpful if the watch hasn't been worn for a while or has stopped.
The Miyota 8215 has a date display and is robustly built. As with all mechanical movements, small daily rate deviations are normal and part of how the mechanism works.
